One of my favorite timed shimmies, the 4:4 hip! This is a great shimmy for layering and keeping consistent timing with the music.

  3/4 Shimmy Switch (Up)

This super fun drill is all about the 3/4 shimmy and how to switch from leading with the right and left hip. Drilling at various tempos to really lock it in. Come back to this drill when you feel like you need a technique tune up for your shimmy!

  Layering Drill

This is a continuous shimmy drill, the goal is to try to keep the shimmy up the whole time! Take breaks if needed and then jump back in.. if the layers are too much, focus on keeping the shimmy consistent first and then add the layers later. Ready, set, shimmy!
